BarbecueStar® is a Caribbean-inspired street food and catering business. We are based in Salisbury, UK, the home of the famous Stonehenge landmark.

 

Our Food

Our exciting menu is mainly of barbecue meat, obviously! It includes the world renowned Barbecue Jerk Chicken, a totally different taste experience.  We also do  wraps, burgers and tasty curry dishes like curry goat. Our meat can be enjoyed spicy, mild or non-spicy. We also do a selection of tender boneless meat options.  We can also cater for your halal and vegan requirement. Customers with dietary needs must speak to our team before purchase. Our meats are carefully sourced, quality-checked and marinated overnight for a full-on Caribbean flavour and a unique taste you'll find no where else.

Our Team

BarbecueStar® is a proud soldier-owned and soldier-operated venture - yes our team are made up of soldiers originating from across the Caribbean and UK. Some of our team members have been serving as professional chefs in the Armed Forces here in the UK and on overseas operations  for many years so they are very much experienced. Our goal is to harness these valuable skills while providing a vibrant, rewarding team who enjoys serving both in the forces and here at BarbecueStar®. At peak periods we employ staff from outside the military to help serve our delicious food to our loyal customers.

 

Our Story

BarbecueStar® was founded by Roger Leggard in 2016 while he was based at Guterslon in Western Germany, in order to share the unique Caribbean taste with the British Forces Germany (BFG) and the German people.

But after notice of his posting back to the UK, as an Initial Trade Training Instructor (ITT), the opportunity to launch the business in Germany was swiftly re-directed to the UK. This was all the more promising due to the simplicity and provisions towards start-ups in the UK. Our Promise

Although we strive for perfection we may not always get it right the first time as mistakes can happen. Our promise is to always endeavour to address any errors on our part or concerns brought to our attention as swiftly as we can to make improvements. Our Community

One of the core mission of BarbecueStar® is to be a community champion and to make a positive impact in our county of Wiltshire. We are passionate about supporting community projects and charities here in the UK and in the Caribbean and through BarbecueStar® Goodwill Project we are achieving our goal; our official charity partner is Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust , 'its a vital emergency service which really does make the difference between life and death to the people of Wiltshire'  - a statement from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, the Patron. We are committing to a monthly donation and also we will be actively fundraising on their behalf.

Our Sustainability Pledge

BarbecueStar® is committed to being a responsible company and is aggressively exploring ways in which we can operate in a more earth-friendly manner. In 2019 we stopped the use of single use take-away bags and plastic straws and are now using  fair-trade and bio-degradable products. And we are continuing to source our produce and other supplies locally where possible. We are also mindful of our vehicle use and limiting its use where we can. In 2021, with our partners, we will be launching a green mobility project which promises to help curb the amount of fossil fuel that is generated in the community and the world, so watch this space for updates.
